When Paul Thorn awakens on his bedroom floor lying next to the corpse of a dead woman, his life is turned on it's ear. Seeking solace from his psychiatrist, Dr. Gabriel Condon, Paul explains he has no idea what has happened, that he has no memory of anything.

But when Condon arrives at Paul's home, the dead woman has disappeared. The doctor tries to wipe away Paul's confusion by blaming the whole incident on hallucinations caused by Paul's new anti-depressant medication, but Paul is skeptical.

On the periphery of this atmospheric mystery is Detective James Orwell who is watching Dr. Condon with much caution, and an enigmatic female stranger who falls into Paul's life and could hold the key to all that is troubling him.
