Starring C.C. Chapman & Dan Gorgone Written & Directed by C.C. Chapman & Dan Gorgone Production Notes After working on no-budget movies in high school, Dan Gorgone knew that creating a story on the fly and filming it at the same time could work well. However, the only thing that hampered instant movie success was the often laborious editing process which followed. There was always a waiting period, and without editing equipment to form the footage into a finely-crafted picture, Dan knew he'd have to wait even longer. When C.C. Chapman bought an 8mm video camera and he and Dan decided to shoot a movie, they knew they had to shoot completely in sequential order. Thus, the Random Foo Pictures formula for moviemaking was born, and so was their first movie: Spontaneous Combustion. C.C. and Dan knew immediately that they could shoot scenes with each other, but if they were to be the only actors in the piece, they needed at least one more helping hand. They called on friend Colleen Stephan to handle the camera during scenes when both men were in the frame. The results of this first venture into moviemaking were very positive and lots of fun. Certainly, there were bugs to be ironed out in their process but after one look at the "final cut" of Spontaneous Combustion, the two Foo's knew they had to follow up with something more. And they both knew it would far surpass their debut. Released April 02, 1996
