10 YEARS

10 years ago this morning Dan and C.C. were waking up after a fun filled night of filming and viewing. Neither thought that we'd be here today writing this message. That is for damn sure.

Yes, Foo has been quiet lately but that is due to so many changings in life. The biggest which would be Dan's new son Jack, who appropriately enough is being Christened today so we will be together.

There is so much activity behind the scenes right now on so many different ideas, directions and possibilities. You have not heard the last of Random Foo. That is for damn sure.

So raise a frosty beverage of choice today and help us celebrate 10 Years of Foo!

Foo Summer Happenings

The number of movie productions has decreased, but that doesn't mean the Foo gang isn't busy. In fact, all of its main members are hard at work on important new projects:

  • C.C. Chapman has been hard at work producing the wildly-successful indie music podcast, Accident Hash. He's been doing such a great job that this week you'll also be able to hear him on Sirius Satellite Radio guest hosting Adam Curry's Podshow!

  • Along with other indie acting gigs, Dan Gorgone is set to star in Jodom Pictures' next production, Going to Great Lengths. But the most important "production" he's working on is the one with wife Kerry: their first baby! Check out their Baby Time podcast for more info!

  • Speaking of first babies, Frank Parker and his wife Kat will be welcoming their own into the world this winter!

  • Steve Sherrick has formed a great new partnership with Mike Amato at Jodom Pictures to produce new movies. And of course, the omnipresent Joe Vaccariello will be lending a hand on some of those new productions, such as The Burn Book.

  • As for Chuck South, his big night comes on August 15th when Kerri Oke gets a huge premiere in Boston!

So you can see, it's been a very busy summer for everyone!

Star of Stage and Screen?

Random Foo's Dan Gorgone has landed a role in a new local production, but this one will take him back to a place he hasn't been to in eight years: the stage!

Dan has joined the cast of the Arlington Friends of the Drama production of Kiss of the Spider Woman, originally made famous by the William Hurt/Raul Julia movie. The Foo co-founder will play the villainous Warden, main antagonist of the two heroic leads. The show opens on April 8th; visit the AFD website for more info.

It's Monday Night Foo-tball!

ABC's "Monday Night Football" premiered a new promo tonight starring former Presidential candidate Howard Dean. Why does Foo care? Don't blink, keep your eyes on the left side of the screen, and when Howard Dean is on stage, you just might see Random Foo Pictures co-founder Dan Gorgone cheering along!

Check it out (in Quicktime format - 12MB):

There's Dan on the far left!

O Canada! Foo's Going to Calgary

Random Foo's own Dan Gorgone and Joe Vaccariello will be heading to Calgary in September to visit the good people of Infiniti Productions, the group behind the web series "GCU" and REwind Video.

While in Calgary, the Foos may get a chance to witness the production of Episode 5 of "GCU" as well as work with the Infiniti crew on another production. A new Foovie shot in Canada? Could it be Capital Punishment 2: Revenge of the Canadian? You never can tell...

The New Randomfoo.com Is Here!

Random Foo Pictures is proud to present the new RandomFoo.com! Lean and mean with a whole new design, the Foo website still offers much of the same info, but now it runs on the MovableType publishing platform. Both C.C. and Dan have been using MT for a while; it's one of the top blogging software platforms around.

With a new design, we hope to offer new features. One of those will be the Now Playing section, where we hope to feature full movies from the Foo library. Check out some of the blasts from the past, as well as premieres of brand new Foovies on the way. Also, click the links around the site to syndicate Foo's RSS news feeds.

Jodom Pictures to Premiere A House Divided

Steve Sherrick is working feverishly to complete work on the final cut of Jodom Pictures' A House Divided from writer/director Mike Amato. The reason: the big premiere has been scheduled for Sunday, June 13th at the World Trade Center in Boston!

Steve is the Editor of the movie, as well as its Assistant Director. Dan Gorgone has a featured role as the story's major villain, and Joe Vaccariello doubles as an actor and all-around production savior once again.

Details on the premiere can be found at the Jodom Pictures website!

Foo Turns 8 Today

Spontaneous CombustionRandom Foo began operations 8 years ago in the wee hours of April 2, 1996. After shooting Spontaneous Combustion, C.C. and Dan sat back in their Bentley College apartment, watched it a few times, and proclaimed the eight-and-a-half minute movie an instant classic. With the power of hindsight, we realize there may be better movies out there, but we still love our first movie. :)

Happy Birthday Random Foo!
